Colossians 3 is more about trust than giving us a to-do list. Read more, straight from my journal below. This is a new series, originally appearing on my Instagram.

Colossians 3.1-4
Christ has become my life in dying with me and leading me to resurrection life by the power & authority he has over death and life. And I love how inclusive this is. It’s not just my eternal life or my “life in Christ,” but my WHOLE life—everything I am. Everything I hope. Everything I dream. Everything I struggle with. It’s all hidden, covered, concealed in him—safe. buried. able to grow roots and be built up in him.
Will I trust that enough to walk in it?
I think that’s the whole question of Colossians and the crux of this chapter. Not to give us a to-do list, but to evaluate where your life is, what your source is, and what your life will reflect. The new life in Christ that has a new, above-kingdom to seek and live in, or the old life of death and an earthly kingdom that will never truly satisfy us.
May we choose trust. Choose burial and hiddenness that give way to new life, true life. Holy Spirit, show us how to walk this hidden life in you.
